11 members of the Society visited St Nicholas’ Chapel in King’s Lynn on Thursday and were treated with a very thorough and enjoyable tour of this magnificent building by Adrian Parker former Chairman of the Friends of St Nicholas who masterminded the restoration of much of this amazing building. We were shown many parts of the building with everything from the 17 layers of paint on the unusual double West Doors of the Chapel, the font cover that had been disposed of and then bought back again, the wonderful angels in the roof trusses and much more. One photo shows some of the group entering through the magnificent South door of the Chapel and the other photo, the West face of the Chapel. The tour was a real treat for all of us and we all appreciated Adrian’s explanations of what he showed us.

Thank you Andrew for organising this. Adrian Parker is one of those rare experts who are dedicated to their subject but communicate it in such a way that the details remain long after the event. If I get to show a friend of mine around St Nicholas Chapel on a Thursday or Friday when they are open, I would feel able to pass that on. A big thank you to Adrian!
